Heres my audi tt lighting example.

still hashing out some of the reflections.
I've got about 8 or 9 variations.. i'll post em next month though after i finalize the reflections.

Whew making a car photoreal is challenging.

i really dont know why no one has responded to this, maybe because the abundance of audi TT's lately :)... but i think its an excellent model. the paint shader looks good too :thumbsup:

the guy who modeled this so graciously made it public domain.. what a nice guy!! it's a very nice model.
I stripped all the lighting and started from scratch.

the paint surface is the default value..
pretty plain surface, nothing on it. some spec some reflecting.

I might go in and dust it up some.

Most of the paint comes from the hidden objects in the scene.
i've been playing around with what works.. so far
a huge..i mean mammouth sized yang is hanging in the sky unseen by the camera.

A yang is a ball, pulled out to look like a curving portion of a ying yang.

=)
there are also some other interestingly shaped objects hiding in there.

I'll have about 5 - 7 newer images by april 4th for the nyclightwave usergroup.

I'll also be uv mapping the underside and side panels with some dirt to get rid of that SUPER Clean look.

This is not radiosity by the way... 15 mintues render on a athlon 1900 with 3 area lights mimicing radiosity.
1 main fill white/yellow
1 side yellowish
1 bluish top down.

dof is on by the way, compositing done incamera with front projection mapping.

Umm it's a nice model and all but since when are audi tt's as big as 18 wheelers?

ask those wrangler people.. why do they make their commercials with these oversized megasized trucks roaming the praries..

So as mentioned it's the supersized tribute to the wrangler commercials.

Not to worry, i've got normal sized audi TT's too.
i'll post them in a bit. Actually they are still rendering.. so coming soon =)
