View Full Version : Particle Ripple
macrocosm 05-21-2007, 08:46 AM I'm trying to create a ripple using particles, that is, I want my particles to behave like a water ripple, I tried to make a plane, then sculpt it to look like a ripple, then using particle goal U & V, but they didnt give me the desired look,,,
If anyone has any other ideas please tell me :-)

You could apply a wave deformer to the surface and animate the offset being sure to set dropoff to 1. Make nurbs plane a goal object set to 1.

Thanx alot bjohnston, the wave deformer thing worked :-) I first had some issues with the goalU,V since I wanted the particles to move from the center outward, so the surface is a simple revolved NURBS line that forms a circular surface, this way I got the U,Vs right,,
Thanx again,,
