Hi guys.

I've been using mudbox for a while, and loved its workflow. The website is great too. It also ships with loads of vids on the tools. I disliked zbrush in earlier versions, as i found the learning curve too steep.

W'eve just got zbrush 3 at work. I've been trying it out on my friends workstation at lunchtimes and sculpting is great. Viewport speed seems excellent. The HD division seems like a great idea too.

Ive been trying to find some good video tuts so i can learn the rest of the toolset, but all i find is looooong text tutorials. Now you might call me lazy, but like most people here, im visual. I can learn so much, and so much faster from video tuts with audio.

Was just wondering if people knew of any online sources shoing the features and brushes, texturing etc.....

This thread could make a great learnig resource for us here.

just to get the ball rolling, not exactly tuts, but useful none the less:

I dont think there are any ZB3 video tutes out there yet. but i suspect they will come. Also check out the "coming soon" section at gnomon. There is a ZB3 dvd coming july 20th.

see this is the thing. i dont wana have to pay. mudbox ships with video tuts. the FRONTPAGE of their website has some great vids.

why are pixologic so bad at this?? me thinks its because they have a zbrush training facility. make it tough to use, then charge people to learn.

lame.

EDIT:

oh sorry, thanks for the reply btw. i didnt know there wernt any video tuts.

Did you try downloading the Zbrush 2 demo and perhaps look through the help menu there? I know this may seem a bit odd but there are scripts that will automate the program and walk you through the interface. It'll show you masking, some of the tools etc... after which you can probably learn all you need to know about Zbrush 3 by looking through the wiki.

and these.

But in a way you're right: apart from the wiki it's minimal, not to say starving. Abd completely linked to the Internet.
Don't forget to click the image of the girl on the main page of the wiki. A great explanation you'll get!

When you hold control, you get a short explanation on most of what's on the interface. And when you click the question mark top-right, you get this info without holding down Ctrl.
