When I turn on dmap shadows for maya hardware the shadows come out as a clump of really sharp squares. The shadow is correct it just seems to do absolutely no filtering on the shadow to smooth it. So it comes out pixel perfect to the dmap file. Dmap filter size seems to have absolutely no effect. Is there anyway around this? I have a 7800 GS, is this due to that or can maya hardware just not filter shadows? Or is there any way to get some ray traced shadows in hardware?
