good start, but you might want to try if you can get that imagequality a little better, try some leveling and brightness/contrast on it, to give it some mroe energy if you know what i mean.

cheers.

How do you render the shadows?

I know there's gotta be the model (rough) of what you want the shadows on, but how do you then get this rendered and composited?

Thanks...

Look at this pic
http://www.geocities.com/geniusgames2000/wip2.txt
I'm using advanced lighting and a skylight for the shadows. As you can see from the pic there is plane under the antenna. The shadow is casted on it.It's map is a environ/screen tile and I I made it a bit darker so it looks like the rest of the scene when It's lit.

Err...and I had to give the skylight a shadow color that fits the rest,of course ;)

Sure - I've got that far - but how do you then render it out and keep the shadow, but lose the surface itself?

by applying a matte/shadow material onto the surface.
that way, it will recieve shadows, but won't render itself.

Hi,guys :wavey:
I havn't done much these 2 days becouse I was busy with school but here's a pic of my progress
http://www.geocities.com/pepo_bg/vfxch7.txt
I've also done the animation of most of the objects but I havn't rendered it yet becouse the render time is about 12 hours without the water:annoyed:.Yesterday I spoke with my school's headmaster, who is a personal friend of mine, and I guess I'll be using the school computerS to render the final project :)
