The sandworm shots are very cool, but way too short for me :shame:, the same goes for this fighting shot in the middle ... as for the rest - I'm not too impressed. And not sure about the color scheme - way too saturated IMO.

Looks pretty cool to me, i liked the first series, so, i'll definatly buy this one (Dutch television doesn't do new series (only Buffy, Angel, Knight Rider, A-Team and other crap series rehashes))

I hope it's better than the last lot... probably not though, it's just too hard to fit so much into so little time.

I had a chance to see alot of the FX shots while I was visiting Area 51 and they look 30 times more impressive then the original....If you like the work you should contact them and let them know,,,,they worked hard on the shots! Congrats to the team that pulled it off!

Whoa :xtreme:
So Muad'dib is still the same actor from the last mini serie, that's nice :)

Seriously, will Hallmark show the serie? That's the only one we've got here in Belgium that might show it (they did with previous one) and it's pay-tv too.

I'd love to see it.

How long is it? I wish I had Sci-fi so I could watch it... It looks like it might actually follow the books :)

I've only seen the trailers on the tv here in the states, but it looks better than the last one. I did see some cool glowing eyes. The best stuff so far is, of course, the worms.

The big change from the first series (even bigger than the change of directors, from John Harrison to Greg Yaitanes) is that the great Vittorio Storaro did not light this one. Also, they combined both Dune Messiah and Children of Dune for this series. I loved Messiah. Though my favorite... and I hope they film this one as well... is God Emperor. Leto... what a worm.

I saw some of it last night it was interesting. I saw the first dune years ago, but I'm not too familar with the story. Well worth the watcj though.

Saw it last night and was pretty impressed. There were a couple of shots that bugged me, but nothing unforgiveable. It definitely feels better than the first so far, IMO. Wasn't happy that they didn't do Duncan Idaho's metal eyes. I felt that was a big part of his character in the books... but I digress.

Anyway, the first two hours were Dune: Messiah. So it looks like we'll have twice as much time with Children of Dune. The Dune universe is so alive and full of material that its hard for anyone to make a good film or miniseries from it, but if you think of it as a sort of visual aide for the books, you won't be so nitpicky with the details. :)

Later,
R2
