Hi all,

I am designing a roof using Maxonform [C4d 9.1xx core, modelling tools only] and would like to know if it is possible to show the x,y,z position of every point in an editable surface in the 3d and 2d windows ? I have no scripting skills at all and am hoping that a talented individual from this incredible forum could help ?

Basically I would like to see the x,y,z dimensions in the top and side views and perhaps even choose to only see the y dimension [world height] for each point. Then I can export the file as a dxf and get the pesky engineers off my back !!

Thanks for your time !

Hi again,

If I am asking too much or if it's a super difficult task - just tell me and I'll go away !

There is simply no inbuild tool to do this efficently. Personaly i know of no plugin solution for this too.
It's not a very common problem.
However two solutions come to my mind.
If you only have a very small number of points you can do it using Vector User Data fields in the HUD, however this requieres a lot of work.
Another option is to create multiple text objects and let Xpresso position them on points and set the values with it.

Hi Srek,

Thanks for your reply, its great to hear from someone who works for Maxon !

I know what you mean by this being an uncommon request - perhaps its because we are using cinema 4d for architectural documentation and this is not really what its made for.

I assume you are familier with Maxonform - do you know if it will be upgraded to use 9.6x or 10.x as its modelling core ? Its currently using 9.1x and there are plug-ins which I cannot use as a result.

Thanks again

Sorry, i don't know. This is up to Product Management, i'm only concerned with the more technical aspects of CINEMA 4D
Cheers
