View Full Version : does anyone know why reflection maps aren't rendering?
zenonithus 05-16-2007, 05:01 PM I've put a map in the reflective colour channel and am viewing it on high quality rendering. seems to work fine.
when I render it out I don't get the reflection map :( are there any settings I'm missing?

Is raytracing turned on? What are your raytracing settings in the render settings?

it's an image based relfection map. It render's in maya hardware. but does funny things so I want to use raytracing instead now, as it turns out :)
however, does raytraced reflections only show when a light source is visible?
I'm trying to reflect a huge image (mapped on a plane) onto the windows of a model building.
The image is a photo of buildings at night, but the raytracing doesn't give an exact reflection, the reflection is based on the specularity of the material (light source) and I just want a pure reflection across the whole building.
do you know how I can achieve this?
cheers
