I would really like to know people's feedback using a Geforce4 with Maya. Do you perfer to softquadro4 your card? if so which drivers work the best. If you dont softquadro your geforce4, how is your performance in maya? which drivers work well for you...
Softquadro drivers which one is the best 42.51 42.01 41.09 41.04 41.03 40.72? (I find it interesting that many people use the 41.04 drivers when they are rated very poor on guru3d.com).
has anyone experienced any good results from det 43.00 or 43.30 with maya (non supported softquadro4 drivers) ?
Thanks any info would be great
i use the 41.09 with sq and iam happy with this the framerate is 30-50% higher with sq -
43.00 hmm ich think sq only support up to 42.51
i hope this helps
I think this might interest you, I just sq-ed my geforce 3 into Quadro DCC successfully with 43.30 driver, and I am amazed by the performance jump!! It doesnt seem to improve any sub-D performance, but it draws a lot more polygons smoothly :applause:

42.51 is the last driver I can use with a geforce4 with softquadro4. not sure if i should use 42.51 or 41.09

i'm using the 43.00 drivers on my geforce4 (no softquadro), and they work great. using 41.09 drivers on other people's cards (geforce2mx and 4mx) with softquadro and they are quite stable and performance is good to boot.
i tend to use the 30.82 drivers on older pre-gf3 cards. the 40 series are heavily optimised for pixel shader performance, which is a waste on anything that doesn't implement these in hardware (ie: geforce1, 2, 2mx and 4mx).

41.03 and softquadro'd. Fast and reliable. Faster than my Radeon 9700 pro at work.
ATI sucks :thumbsdow

Sorry for the very stupi question, but, what is this "softquadro4"?
How it works?
How can I get it?

I was using the sq´ed 41.09 before and they worked good. However, it seems that 61.77 drivers are working quite good with my Geforce 4 Ti 4400, no problems at all with Maya. Even the refreshing bug going from 4 to 1 viewport with not displaying viewport content has been fixed (but I think earlier versions are fixed too). More and more I tend to not see much of a difference between sq´ed drivers and non sq´ed in my applications (Inventor and Maya). I recently switched to a FX 5800 and with 61.77 everything works perfect.

But, what is this "softquadro4"? :)
And, I have a Gainward GeForce4. Wich will be the best driver and version I should use, that best works with Maya and you have the best performance?

all the info you need to 'softquadro' your card.

The softquadro is a script that dissables check algorithm in the driver for additional registers that are only on Quadro 4 chips available. Thus result in enabling driver functionality for Quadro 4 on Geforce 4 cards. Read the softquadro4 article on www.nvworld.ru (http://www.nvworld.ru) and you get an indepth look.
