View Full Version : What is the best way for modeling (pics inside)

I learn by myself, and i just know the polygon modeling (with Maya4). This is an exemple of something i can do.

I want to start modeling this guy. Do you thing i should continue with polygone modeling or something else? If you thing i should try a new way , can you give me a tutorial adresse?

your poligonal skills are very good, you can use it to modeling this guy. For the (cord-wire-string) the best way is to use nurbs modeling, with a simple line and xtrusion... ;)

Wow, that's really good polygon modelling there. I mainly use Nurbs and Subd's, especially for something like that.

So did you use alot of meshsmooth? I never seem to have good results with maya's poly smoothing, it always seems to give me jagged corners or bad artifacting. I've gotten to where I just pretty much stay away from it. But that is nice. How many poly's?

20146 poly for the body + 15 000 for the tail. Thx for the comment and the tips. I use connect poly shape.
