Hey guys...I found out that I can't run ZB2 on a machine with more than 4GB's of RAM (even though the demo runs fine...which is what I tried)...so here I am trying to uninstall it, because I have 8GB's...the problem is it won't let me. It gets stuck at Software database > Uninstalling ...HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Window...

I could delete the key myself...if it would tell me the right path you see...but it gets cut off and I can't expand the window...so here I am...stuck.

Any ideas?

ZBrush 2 runs fine on Vista Ultimate 64bit edition with 8 GB of ram. Just for fun I tried uninstalling and no problems there either.

Are you sure you are using the 64 bit compatible version that was released a couple of months ago? You would have needed to contact Element 5 for a new download link. The download contains the ZBrush 2 executable that is compatible with 32 and 64 bit OS'.

I'm not using the 64bit version. I found out about it after the problem. I already contacted them about this version, but I have yet to uninstall the previous version.

Can you boot up into a Safe Mode and remove it like that?

Safe mode didn't uninstall it either...I just did a system restore. Worked great. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

For future reference most installers/uninstallers make a log to track what happens during the job. The log would usually be stored in system32, system, windows but it varies. Since the uninstall is failing you may find it in the app directory since it won't get deleted. If you can't find it use the Windows search tool and check for files created or updated at the moment the uninstall was attempted. Having not dabbled much with Vista yet I can only assume the search tool is similar to XP. You can also check the event viewer to see if it generated any errors but thats not as often done.
