hi,

i really don't know if this forum is the right one for my question but nevertheless i am going to ask my question here because i don't know better where to post it at all.
i saw and read your article (on CG-Society's mainpage) about "zoic zoom - visual evolution" and i think it's an amazing picture. you know: that one with the planet earth and the spaceship.

and now i wonder how to create such a realistic earth? where can i find those earth-maps?
does anybody know? please let me know.

well, I'm not 100% sure about this but I think , the earth in that image is a real photo , if not, you would have to paint all those clouds details. or it would be really difficult trying to render a big detailed displacement map
