>Equinoxx & Stygian: Thank you so much, yeah I'm in and I got an idea now:

OK, the whole world now knows Megaboy for his courage and his strength ...but not everyone is thinkin' like this...in fact, Megaboy won't be my hero but it will be his granny...Supaaagrannyyy!! Yeah but she's not a hero at all...just a grandmother...and she doesn't want his lil'son to be hurt...that's why she decides to be like Robin for Batman...but without Megaboy's authorization...too bad for him...
:D

here is a first sketch of supppaaaagrannyyyyy!

Cute and would be a lot more under the responsability of his granny!

What do u think guys?

Nice concepts you've got there! I love the granny:D
As far as megaboy, the first concept is great, but doesn't look like a kid to me. So, I think the second one is more in keeping with your idea....I really like the slippers on the first one...I think you should try to work that element into the second concept. Just my 2 cents:beer:

Kirt
03-19-2003, 06:43 AM
Nah, he needs a pair of those one piece flannel pajamas with the rubber sole feet attached to them. I'm thinking something in a nice baby blue with yellow duckies on it. :D

I like the second one with the little kid. You could accessorize him with other baby items too. A baby monitor used as a communications device? A holster for his bottle? How about one of those retaining leashes for his pacifier?

Can you tell I've been around kids too much? hehehehe :D

Looking good Art!

>Wildsheepchase & Kirt:

Yeah i was thinkin' about the same sleepers for the lil' boy too...but I will try to accessorize him as Kirt said (yeah I guess u've been around kids tooooo much lol)...not a lot of accessories 'cause it's more important to put details on Supaaagranyyyyyy, the real hero! :D

Thank u guys!

hi,
What's going on your scene sketch? Granny seems to be the greatest obstacle on the megaboy's aim to be a hero! Maybe he's not totally hapless? But as you mentioned before, the hapless one is the granny...
By the way, building a scene that shows the act of failure is a rule of the challenge, am I wrong?
good luck...

art7sayan : not much up here, except for beeing busy with the promise short movie and real life stuff, all the time.. havent been able to work on anything focused for a long time now, but I can see that you have. Not watching your stuff all the time, and I can clearly see a GREAT improvement in your work.. not that it was bad when I saw it last time, it was great, but now its really great. Your coloring especially... megaboy looks very nice colored

art7sayan
03-27-2003, 02:01 AM
>Kirt: Hehe, those stylish BG from WB are too great and that's why some of mine are so similar now  ...I just love them too!

>Dinlenmis: Yes, the main hero of my future scene will be the granny, she just wants to protect the lil' boy (even if he's really powerfull!) because she's A GRANDMOTHER lol :D ...but then she's always on trouble 'cause she's powerless...and that's why in this scene I want to show that "supergranny" can't stop this big-bad-guy... (and that's why I need to change the angle of the scen too, to focus on the granny ;) ).
Thanks for the piece of advice! :wavey:

>Soeren Nielsen: Thank you...I don't know what to say... :D
I still need to learn a lot...and these challenge are a really good opportunity! But I'm really busy too and it's hard to find time to practice but I tr...I try!
Anyways, holla back when you got some spare time mate!

Thank u so much Mangled Poly!

The BG is done now, I don't want to put too much details on it just to focus on the characters (...I will put 2 or 3details at the end though... ^^ )

Nice colours man! Beautiful painting on the characters. One crit. I think you should put the grandma into a more dynamic action pose, right now she looks to relaxed. The other 2 look calm and so does she but I think it would work better if you have her really swinging that roller!

art7sayan
03-28-2003, 08:43 PM
You might be right Gamoron... I will try another action pose for her...for now I got this thing done so far:

http://art7sayan.free.fr/bankimages/Charherohapless!_2.jpg.jpg

...yeah too relaxed again I guess...

Tell me what u think guys!

:wavey:

dinlenmis
03-28-2003, 10:48 PM
Hmm, I think you may add a loving&caring appearance to granny... She's hapless due to her too much love and protection, like Elmeira(spelling?)in Tiny Toons, with a difference she does not protect. ;)

The characters are great and well drawn, but the poses are very static - at least as I think :) Nice idea anyway, keep it up!

art7sayan
03-28-2003, 11:28 PM
>Dinlenmis & tmt: Well, in fact, I wanted the granny to be a "blasé granny" and that's why she looks so relaxed...but I agree that the scene looks static now...Maybe I will add a lovin' & carin' appearance to her, as Dinlenmis said and a new action pose (more dynamic) ;)

Thx to all of u!

Well, I will start with this picture 'cause I think the colorwork could add all the dynamism ( + lil' FX) soooo...here is the first wip on the final picture:

And you're also close to win the contest.
The art and technic is admirable. And a comment: Maybe you've outcasted megaboy to focus on granny, but I think you can move him a little inner to the scene, and place granny closer to the center.
This "close" word began to bore me...

art7sayan
04-11-2003, 01:01 AM
Totally right Dinlenmis...but I guess it's too late now to make another composition... :hmm: ...anyways...here is the final picture:

Dark-Angel

very nice, but this was prob said to late. only thing is that little granny doesnt seem to have an emotion when hitting the guy, like an emotion of anger or at least having the look of hiting real hard.

Granny's facial expression does not really convince me. I would like her more angry like "Hey you bastard! Dont touch that kind again, else i will have to buttslap you!!!" or something...

art7sayan
04-16-2003, 02:32 AM
Ok...so you don't love my "blasé" granny ... lol ...she comes back and she's angry now!! (but she's still powerless :D )

Much better. That final image is pretty sweet, boy!

All i can say is you should correct a tad bit the areas that look way too jagged like that paper over megaboy. Anywayz, thats just touch ups after all =)

I think that the "no emotion granny" is funnyer.....because is pretty unsense that hitting a so big man in a so strange situation make the gran. having no emotion!! It make me LOL!!
anyway....this is an amazing work...:buttrock: :applause:

ps: Guys.....please...i know,i know...my english is so damn crappY!!

I didn't like the new one.
The old one was better, and I think you shouldn't change the final image anymore..

art7sayan
04-21-2003, 08:50 PM
Ahh...^^ Some of u like my blasé supaaagranny though! :D

Well...my first intention was to show that supagranny is unaware that it's a dangerous situation...so personally I think the first picture was better too...and that's why I will use the first one...
Maybe these who doesn't like this first one wasn't aware about this first intention...anyways, I hope u understand my choice now :)
