Hi every one
This is my first time here , so you can welcome me :)
Look what I found in my garage! I know it since I was born
This is a famous and a good drilling machine in those days.
2 speeds and power , you can use it with right hand or left hand ,no noise , no need for electricity!!
Any comments about the model and texture are welcome !

Nice work. My only comment is, maybe the "rust should be a bit more orangy-brown or reddish-brown, right now it look a little purpley.

Other than that I love the model, the detail in the drill bits (the spiral), the rough grip pattern on the chuck, the grain of the wood and the crack and wear in the crank handle.

iTS a solid model but I must suggest a bump map, with a very high resolution so that you get rather small ruffness.

Thank you , I am not useing bump from a picture I am doing this by painting with brush so I can controll the results , but do you mean that I made too much bump?

nice... but my only crit [apart from the funny rust colour] is the fact that the cogs and the metal edges aren't as worn as i'd expect them.. they need to be bevelled more... especially the edges of the cogs..

Looks good.

My suggestion is that you "wear" it out a bit. Maybe chew up the gears and add a bit more wear to the steel. Also, the drill bits on the ground next to it seem to be only a reflection. Maybe change the ground to something a bit more realistic and with less reflection. That will help make the drill bits pop and help create a more realistic piece.

Hope that helps.

Nice model , But it needs beveling on those sharp corners.

i think this has been mentioned, but rarely do you find sharp corners like i see here in the real world. especially on an object that has this much rust. bevel up the corners, put some nicks and scratches on it, and it would add to the realism. also, it looks like you got some stretching on the end of the handle, and the wood map is real blurry - try and sharpen it up a bit.

it also appears you have no specular maps on this - you got some bump goin on on the wood handle, but some specular (particularly for the rust) would add to the realism...

hope that helps - great first post!

Thank you guys

About the gear I didn't used it at all but very rusty I expect to see this in heavy duty machine and not hand power :) and it have the same corner.

Thank you mattconway, where do you think specular is low.
I have a control of the specular color too , what color do you think be the best?
