View Full Version : saving poses problem
mindfreak 05-12-2007, 07:48 PM so i got this character with a biped then a posed it very nice and save my scene...
then today when i opened it its all messed up :sad: why its that?, so then i have to store my pose and when i apply it its all move:shrug:, im using 5.0 is this a bug or something?
oh and other question.. when i have posed my char, how i cant delete the rig and work with the geometry already posed? a snapshot or what is it calls?

Make sure that when create a pose for your character, that you branch select the highest level node in your hierarchy; i.e. dont select the left leg bone and set a pose and expect the entire pose for the whole rig to be saved.

To do this, just select the geometry first, then Freeze it. Make sure you dont Freeze Modeling, I mean hit the Freeze button above Freeze Modeling to clear everything in the construction history. This will freeze the character in place and you will loose the influence from the rig. at this point you could delete the rig if you wanted to.

i think i middleclick the whole thing in the explorer then i save it that was in xsi 5.0, now that im on 6.1 i try it and it seems ok but still one arm went to the market xD:shrug:

Dont know about 6, but in XSI 5.x theres a little bug where when you apply an action (pose) some rig parts might act strangely, i.e. go into wrong position, etc. To fix it you just move your time slider back and forth and it fixes itself, very weird one.
