View Full Version : Getting rid of lost image files?
Eudaimic 03-14-2003, 11:04 AM I have a scene that every time I open it up I get the "can't find this file" dialogue. Normally of course I could just browse and find it, but the problem is that I don't want it to use it anymore. In fact I thought I had gotten rid of all materials and whatnot in the scene!
So how do I track down where in the scene that image is being referenced?

This may not be right, but when this happens to me, I open the mat editor then open the mat\map browser and select the scene radio button, then I go through the list and find the bitmap materials and drag them over to the mat editor and drag none over the bitmap in the maps rollout, and then its gone.
just make sure that when you drag it from the browser to the editor that you select "instance".

I already tried that...
Is there a way to load all materials in the scene into the mat. editor.?

Bump
Heeelp :)
in the material editor click on get material. In the new panel select the "scene" radio button. This will show you all the materials assigned to your scene. If you check maps, you should be able to track the missing maps and remove them.
