This is my new DemoReel 07. I'm going to rework it a bit in the next few months since I will complete some rather nice projects that I want to put on. But as I'm going to meet some big names in the VFX industry soon I need a Reel right now.
I'd be more than happy if you could post some comments on the editing and the general feel of the reel.

No coments at all?
Come on, it got about 6000 unique downloads in two weeks, had me exceed my traffic limit by 500% and was featured on the frontpage of 3dtotal - it can't be that bad :)
yeah, lazy snails, it's easy to download and watch, but it takes time and effort to give someone feedback.
anyway, nice and colorful, but I can't comment more than that, fx is not my field.
(I liked the wave and penguins and the shools of fish a lot though!)

Matthias:
I will be happy to chip in my two quids for what it's worth :)
First. Nice reel. It seems to me that you are comfortable with a lot of different tools. Surely a nice plus when you are out there looking for "the job" :)
I enjoyed that i could maximize the .mov file without throwing the quality out the window (I have seen many reels where the quality allows just a tiny little window :/)
I just have a few questions:
- Does the poor little kid (washed on to the beach) really need "beautyfying pills"? Maybe another transition between these two scenes?
- The diamond scene was a bit short? If the point was to showcase a new shader (as stated in your breakdown pdf) you might want to spend more than a second or two on the scene? (I did not recognize the "diamond shader" part before after reading the breakdown).
- The undewater scene (in the still photo part) was a bit blurry? Maybe it would have been nicer with a more sharp / crisp look?
- Does the invisible band take requests? Would have been cool to hear what type of music they are capable of playing :)
And again. Take this for what it's worth (or not worth :) )

Thanks for the suggestions kbotnen. I agree about the diamond shader. That is really short and maybe should be extended a bit. Especially as I'm quite satisfied with the outcome. I also thought about changing it from a camera-move to a still camera with rigid body diamonds falling on black ground. If I find time...
The invisible band plays Phil Collins :) It's a remake of the "Missed again" video. But I'm sure that they will play other kind of music too if asked to :)

Excellent work Matthias, good to see it up here:) I doubt I can offer any more advice that you haven't already had from me, but it would be good to hear other people's opinions.
