Hi,

Can someone help me with the following problem?:
I Currently I use 3ds max and character studio for handling motion capture
files. Now my question is how this is done Maya. Because we have a lot of
motion capture files or we buy just the .BIP files and use it for our
characters. The reason why I ask this is because we want to switch over to
Maya (especially with the new price cuts). Does it work the same way. Just
setup the character and then the skeleton and assign for example a motion
capture file to it?

You'll import the animation to a skeleton with the proper nameing and you should be fine. The animation will be a trax-clip witch you may edit. There's a handly script on Highend3d that makes mocap editing easier, motion controll, it alows you to animate in layers, just like you do in filmbox. Though what you might find your self wanting is a re-intepilation filter. If you find one, post the link here, I've been looking for one for quite some time.
