can anyone tell me how many poly SQUARSE using for their game?
such like"FFX" "FFX-2", how many poly they using for their main character? such like YUNA
4000 triangle or more? anyone can tell me?

It's SQUARE and they have LODs for their Characters in the forementioned games. I don't have numbers or such, maybe 1000 in game sequences and 5000 in cutscenes. Better guesses, anyone?

5000 or more. when I saw the FFXI I was amazed seeing the graphics of this game, environments, lighting and cutscenes break your head thinking we can hold all this work!

cant be 5000 for gaming, thats around 10000 polys and from what i recall from ffx it cant handle that much... depeding on how many characters are on screen

I saw the FFXI, the in-game have 1000 and the cutscenes (real-time) have + - 5000, really, im serious!

my opinion

1500 - 2000 for non battle models

2500 - 3000 for battle models

4000 - 5000 for cut-scene

cut-scene models are abritary cause i think they use the battle models for far shots and cut-scene models for close shots

so i guess should be 5000 in the cutscenes,.
i'm doing a character using "FFX-2"'s concept, just 4 fun. :D , I finish modeling already, the polycount is 4980 triangle,and i will finish mapping this night. I will show my progress later. hope u guys wont be disappointed.

topic is squares, and 5000 squares = 10000 polys, 5000 polys seem more resenable for game model real time.

"SQUARE" means the company name, not the "square poly". 5000 is the triangle
