Hello, I have just recently graduated from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver B.C., earning my BMA in animation. As part of the 3 year animation program we are required to produce a short animated film during our final year (over a period of around 8 months).

This is my short (6 min) film, "8". It was done completely in digital 2d, by painting "puppets" and backgrounds in Adobe Photoshop and animating them in Adobe After Effects. I wanted to have a dark, atmospheric 3d look without resorting to 3d (I tried to play to my strengths; painting, drawing, rendering, instead of learning 3d from scratch).

The film is currently screening at the E.C.I.A.D. gradshow for the next 2 weeks or so if you live nearby and want to check it out before I put up the low res full version someday.
