Ok, so I'm ready to give the challenges another whirl after a long layoff and one aborted attempt. I don't have a sketch ready yet, but I wanted to at least get my idea out there since I've started to see some of my ideas and bits of ideas starting to sprout up. There are some awesome designs and ideas brewing here and I better catch up!:p

My villian is going to be a genius mastermind bent on taking over the world through brilliant plans of world domination. His drawback, however, is that he has low self esteem. All of his plans are crazily brilliant, but they're juuuuust not good enough to implement. It's always back to the drawing board. The few plans he manages to execute fail and add to his demetia.

I'm thinking of creating a sidekick. Er, I guess villians don't have sidekicks...henchman? Anyway, I'm still fleshing this character out, but I'm leaning toward a character that he experimented on to create the perfect soldier but failed ("Damn! I KNEW that was going to happen! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!").

Still trying to think up of a catchy name...maybe Dr. Doom and Gloom? Major Downer? Ideas anyone?

I should have sketches up by tomorrow or by the weekend. Can't believe that some of you are already modeling. I'm glad this isn't just a one week contest cuz I'll be using the whole amount of time. Heh.

Doc Despair... Mister Morbid. There's two names I've thrown at you - I kind of liked Dr Doom and Gloom as a name, though:thumbsup:

Heh, I like those suggestions Grub! Maybe I'll stick with Dr. Doom and Gloom for now.

Here's an initial sketch. Thought I had his henchman all figured out, but am having some last minute design changes. Hopefully later today or tomorrow I'll have everything figured out for both of them.

Ok. Here's my final sketch with my duo of evil pretty much fleshed out. It's going to be Dr. Doom and Gloom with his evilest creation Nuke-ular, the Incredible Exploding Man.

A little more about Nuke-ular:

He was perhaps Dr. Doom and Gloom's most ambitious plan. He was to create the perfect super soldier to serve his plan to enslave the world. This soldier would be a being of pure energy, harnessing the destructive power of a nuclear bomb. The energy would be contained by force fields emitted by special boots. But, because of his low self esteem, he never carried out this plan even though he had formulated all of the necessary experiments. However, this was just around the time that Dr. Doom and Gloom had entered therapy, and bolstered by the encouragement of his shrink, he went ahead with his nefarious plans. In fact, his shrink became the unwitting recipient of the super soldier process. The experiment, however brilliant, failed, and, rather than creating a being able to wield the forces of a nuclear bomb, he ended up with a glowing blob with the ability to pretty much harmlessly explode and regenerate himself. Thus was Nuke-ular, the Incredible Exploding Man born!

Sheep: Thanks, man. :) I'm keeping an eye on your entry as well. That's also some funny stuff.

Here's another update. Just about done with the head save for some very minor tweaking, and, of course, an expression. Starting on the body next...

Heh. As soon as I posted my update, forgot that I still have the ears to do. Looks like I still got some work on the head to do. Whoops.

Another update. He can hear now that he has some ears, and his body is getting fleshed out. Hope to be done with him by the end of the week, but no promises.:p

Thanks, Sheep! Yeah, I'm looking forward to starting Nuk-ular, too. Should be easy modeling, but the texturing should be a bit of challenge. Like the start on your character as well. He should be a good one!:)
