View Full Version : (MoGraph) Xpresso driven by sound effector

Hi all... I don't know if any of ou xpresso-heads can help? But I can seem to find a way to get the mograph sound effector to drive a little wodge of nodes as the sound is played.

Basically I have a cymbal hooked up to some contraints and a vibe tag, which is then animated via a couple of range mappers. So that a "hit" and falloff of the subsequent rotational vibration is all animated via one slider.

This cymbal needs to be synced with a soundtrack (as will the other metalwork of the kit) so my idea is to create a sort of click track by mashing the keyboard in Logic - in time to correct hits in the tune - and using that solo track to fire the sound effector. Which will in turn fire the animation driven by the "hit" slider.

So, here come's my question...
how do I get the sound effector to drive the xpresso of cymbal?

I'm pretty stumped, but I may have been looking at this too long :(

I've included a file if anyone has the time to take a look.
It requires r10 and CD Constraints.

Thanks in advance!

That'Äs what the Sample Effector node is for. Plug your Sound Effector into it and from the sampel node take the strength to drive your other stuff.

Apologies... I should have taken a little time to read the manual before jumping in!

Note to self.. RTFM!
