Hi there. Really amazed with MR Fast sss. Having a slight problem though.
Using a default material and applying a colour map I can use white to colour sections of the mesh.
This doesn't seem to work with Fast sss since the whites seems to take on skin behaviour
and not show much at all.

I can't use a multi/sub object since the mesh was displaced and the hi-res separation
for the eyes is very hard to find and topology won't match the contours.
Just wanted to know if there a way of maybe using another map as a mask to separate
the skin from the eyes in the shader.

That way I can maybe colour them separately?
Anyone please have any idea on how to achieve this?

hi,

make your eyes alone (sphere or what ever) and delete the eye-mesh from your head-mesh. For blending between eye-mesh and head-mesh use the mia_roundcorner shader.

Thanks, looks like MR has even more amazing tricks up it's sleeve :)

Not too sure I'm going to break off the mesh to fit eyes tough, then it should have been planned from the beginning. Maybe a reflection map will do it. except that it'll be a lot of work painting all the reflection in the model.

and when you want to animate the eyes? I think it is better you have 2 meshes.
