View Full Version : Hapless Hero/Villain - Character - KayosIII
KayosIII 03-14-2003, 03:39 AM Yay I have some time for this challenge... May I introduce somebody to you .... He is my first concept that I don't think will die in the A***.
Meet SkizzoPhrenique..... [Applause}
http://www.midcoast.com.au/~rgcoy/art/CgChallenge/Skizzo_concept_sketch_01.png
Skizzo Is a super-villain/Super hero rolled into one Unfortunately this does not work well since Skizzo manages to foil his own evil plots before anybody knows there is a problem in the first place.

Meet Skizzo and Phrenique (Skizzo is on the left).
Skizzo can fly - Phrenique gets air sickness.
Phrenique is a genius - Skizzo Is as dumb as a box of rocks - In fact Phrenique was held back in high school no less than 4 times on account of Skizzo.
Skizzo gets all the girls - Phrenique gets none - This makes Phrenique bitter and is part of the reason that he hates the world.

Hey, shouldn't you be working on the Wings ribbit plugin?
Just kidding; it sounds like you've got a good idea there. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

I am using Wings3d (http://www.wings3d.com) for the actual modelling... Some of the renders use Realsoft3d.

I didn't get this to be perfect because I am going to be mostly covering it

Nice, but I think his torso is a bit to wide. Even with two heads, it looks a bit off ;) Another idea: let the heads share a piece of the neck, that way U could have more "natural" body ;)
TRyanD
03-17-2003, 09:11 PM
Wow totally awsome job so far, but the neck bothers me alot :O
It looks wrong like that, they need to be connected at the neck
ATM it looks like their heads omce out of their shoulders.
GJ though cant wait for the final :D

Yeah The neck thing looks kinda funny... Difficult to do unreal anatomy well....
Anyways added a whole bunch of stuff.

lol, nice, how bout you make the bases of the necks right next to eachother, so the heads are almost crushed into one another, another reason for bitterness towards eachother. I like this almost as much as the Obesessive compulsive disorder man!

Great job! Looking forward to more. :D
What exactly is Xdugef? Some sort of software, I'm sure. Don't think I've heard of it.
Something I thought of: Complete Idiot's Guide to: EVIL and show a big Microsoft logo. :D

UM I have been working on the cloak bit... Having difficulties - Anybody know a good tutorial on modelling drapey Cloth Well.... I don't have any tools that specifically do cloth.

I think everthing is looking very fine.
Would be nice to see a larger render, tricky to see what's going on.

Still quite a bit of tweaking to do before I show off the details -- the cloak is killing me at the moment.

Heya first update -- been playing a bit with bones and materials.... It all gets a lot harder from here.

OMG your bum-chin geezer is KIRK DOUGLAS, looking real good, I find modelling 1 head enuff' nevermind 2... sweet...

03-22-2003, 12:23 PM
Thats a cool concept, very nice modeling as well, especially good work on the clothing... nice to see another wings user... :bounce:
KayosIII
03-23-2003, 11:18 AM
samartin: I assume thats a compliment... who is Kirk Douglass??? Modelling two heads wasn't that much harder... I developed a generic head to a certain copied it twice tweeked them both differently and added the different features....
Hmura... Thanks... I don't know what to say except -- Wings is a really nice modeller... (I am sorry to the folks waiting for the next installments of the povray and renderman exporters) I am doing the challenge at the moment.
Finally Skizzo finally has some hardware -- I am not that familiar with handguns so if there is something obviously wrong (except the ommision of a trigger) let me know.
http://www.midcoast.com.au/~rgcoy/art/CgChallenge/hardware.jpg
Right now most of my time is being spent learning the wonderful world of boning.
samartin
03-23-2003, 12:16 PM
Indeed it was a compliment, I always model from feet upwards and I always do modelling integrated, so I don't attach a head to the body so therefore adding another head would be my idea of a welding nightmare, I hate welding points...
Your gun is looking alot like a mini UZI, not that I know alot about guns, anyways I attached a reference to some blueprint site, not sure if it is useful to you, but you never know...
Blueprints of guns (http://www.urban-armory.com/blueprints.htm)
PS. Kirk Douglas is the guy from Spartacus...
KayosIII
04-03-2003, 01:33 PM
I spent the last week trying to bone or skin.... I have been thwarted at every turn by my software so I decided to texture the model first....
Anyways here is the first bit of actual textureing - A belt - Yeah I know that the area below the belt looks a little funny I plan to cover it with a big shiny cod piece....http://www.midcoast.com.au/~rgcoy/art/CgChallenge/belt.jpg
KayosIII

Who thought that a MiniDV cam could be so useful... Still learning this texture stuff.

Although the tools are a bit primitive I have got to say that the 3D Paint Tools in Blender3d can get results....
Anyways I have started to texture Phreniques Head...

This is getting pretty close to the final... I still have a lot to learn about texturing but at least phrenique looks half decent....
http://www.midcoast.com.au/~rgcoy/art/CgChallenge/final1.jpg
Wow that looks pretty good.
I like what you've done with
Phrenique's head. The texture looks really good.
It has a nice creepy feeling to it.
