I'm getting odd sample dot artifacts in my scene. I say sample because they shift from frame to frame. This scene has no GI, no AO, no post effects. Rendered at Best 1's by 4's, ray depth 100, reflection depth 5, shadow depth 50, threshold 5%, SPD off. The sample dots happen with shadows and without. The textures are a mixture of procedural and bitmaps, using both MIP and SAT sampling. The dots seem to occur on all objects, regardless of texture. My lights are omni fills in an array, along with one infinite light. Again, happens with and without shadows.

This is a very mild frame. Others are much worse. Since it's an animation, the shifting is death.

I miiiight've solved it. Replaced the infinite light with an omni...

[Edit]

...and no, it's back if I activate non-shadow-casting omni fill lights in an array.

I'm seeing this in other projects as well. I thought it was a specularity problem, but in this scene, the spots happen on objects with no specular.

Bingo, most of them are. I'm in puppy love with that illumination model. Why do you ask?
