View Full Version : NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256 MB
v-empire 05-09-2007, 02:52 PM Hi,
has anybody tried an Apple Macpro under Win XP with the
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256 MB
?
Is this enough open gl performance for working with c4d 10,
or does one have to take the bigger much more expensive cards for effective working.
Thanks

I've never tried personally (I'm a PC user for now), but from other users feedback, this is plenty for every day use.
C4D does not use any of the goodies offered by the professional cards anyway.
From the Mac Pro line, the card I would recommend is the X1900XT, especially for the video memory if you are using a lot of textures in your scene (or want to display them at higher rez).

The 7300 GT DDR2 is a ~ $75 component with 3D performance somewhere between low-end and mid-range. Its probably provided as an option for FinalCut Pro, Photoshop and After Effects users who need a card that can drive a monitor at high resolutions.
My 7900 GT works fine with modest polycounts but chokes on high poly scenes. You can expect the same to happen with the 7300.
