wow, this is really cool. I love the painterly style; the lines and strokes and movement. I can tell you've been painting like this for a while. my attempts at this style of painting have always been very difficult, just to get something not-so-good...

great idea!. keep us posted.

I really love the way you have recreated the line quality of a brush painting. Also, your understanding of composition is outstanding. I imagine animating the image might break the illusion. Is that true?

Great work, Facial!

That is a very nice ink shader you have there. Very creatively executed!

Do you have animation (playblast or animatics) of the shrimps? I would really love to see them swim!

Any synopsis of the storyline for this masterpiece?

It's really something new and breakthrough I must say...it really kept the essense of Chinese Ink Painting, the strokes and the lines...

Keep up the good work, can't wait to see the final animation!

Wish you the best in finishing your short. I look forward to seeing how the style works in animation.

I tried something painterly and tried (unsuccessfully) to get a feel of friction on the paper. I had a slight texture (very subtle) and hooked it to global coordinates.

Please post an animation when you feel happy with it. I love this kind of work, and your approach looks great!
