Just running through some ideas - please excuse the quality of the sketches, (weakly implying that I can do better... :p).

If you like any of the following, please let me know! (i.e: I'm going to keep spewing crap characters until someone says "stop!" :D )

The Flying Squirrel

http://www.moonjam.com/Super/squirrel.jpg

Cecil, a lowly cleaner by day, gained mystical powers when one fateful night he tripped on his grandmothers rug, landing on the remote... this event caused the channels to switch to The Discovery Channel - Animal Hour. As Cecil lay, half dazed from his fall, his mind filled with images of squirrels, fanning their skin and effortlessly gliding from tree to tree. When he fully awoke, he knew that he was to be... The Flying Squirrel!. So seizing the bear-skin rug from the floor and sellotaping it to his back, he launched himself into the night, swooping for the innocent... tumbling for the good... and crumpling on the pavement for no aparrant reason... :surprised

Lint Boy

http://www.moonjam.com/Super/lint.jpg

Who's that figure in the shadows? Is it a ball of yarn? Is it a gigantic dust bunny? No! It is Lint Boy - Ball of Justice!. No-one knows the origns of Lint Boy; Some say he was a normal kid once, who one day decided to stop cleaning out his naval... Other tell of a tragic accident at the old Washer/Dryer factory... Despite the mystery of his beginnings, he is here now! And will roll into the pockets of evil, stick to the jumpers of the villianous and generally appear when you least expect him to...

The Spoon

http://www.moonjam.com/Super/spoon.jpg

I honestly don't know.

The Umbrella

http://www.moonjam.com/Super/umbrella.jpg

It was a memorable day the The Umbrella first stepped out into our world... sadly, it was also a windy one. If only he hadn't chosen to base his headquarters atop "Mount Windy McCliff", he may still have been with us. His Father could only comment; "He was a f***ing disgrace...". Umbrella, we salute you.

Supermanatee

Born out of societies cry for an end to suffering, pain and lettuce. This mighty sea-cow came to our planet from the far distant reaches of Phlorydah, he stands for truth, honour and a weak play on words. Fly Supermanatee FLY!!!!

Superman(atee). Dude, that is frickin hilarious! Lint boy is funny, but would probably be hard to do. For overally character appeal though, I say the flying squirrel.

Nice ideas...!

Oh no! I was going to name my super villian Cecil as well(no kidding:D ) Oh well....I'll have to find another name, perhaps Nigel.
Great concept sketches and your background stories are great. I think the umbrella guy is my favorite with the spoon a close second.

thats some 'deep' stories ;) really got to my heart with the umbrella guy, so sad that he is no longer with us, he would have ruled. The Squirrel guy is my fav' whichever one you choose, is your own choice however :D good luck

You have to do the Super Man(atee)!! It's so funny that he can fly up to help someone, but has no hands to help them with!:bounce: :bounce:

Thanks for all the feedback on the characters guys, although it's been a while - I thought I'd let you know that I am still in the challenge (I think!).... but I'm working on some completely new characters, mainly because there wasn't one of my current ideas that I really wanted to do... so I'll put some more 'designs' (ha!) up tomorrow :D

In the mean time - I did fudge together this 'masterpiece':

ahem

(note - this is not my super hero! :D)
