That's the question.

As far as this little piece is made with Lightwave Discovery Edition, so it can't be saved, I feel as it could be "finished art".
I've been modelling then cutting sections with less than 200 points in count, then saving them as different objects.
I've made this screen grab loading the different parts, copying and pasting them in a different file, then merging the points for you to get a feeling of the whole model. The head was the only piece that I had like a whole. I made it a couple of years ago when I had still access to the app, just take a look at my avatar.

Shame I'm not wealthy enough to buy any 3D software right now.
I wish Newtek could make a move in the same direction that Avid with XSI and Side Effects with Houdini
I've always loved this app, almost my only choice if i ever am in business again.

Excuse the poor quality of the image. Not uploading from any server.

This is a prety good character. Since you can't really work on it, it qualifies as a finished work.

very nice, I'm embarking on character modelling right now, I would more than happy to have that as my final output.

Looks really good to me. The pant rolls look a little too tall and there is too much seperation between the biceps and forearms on the jacket, and the arms would look better if they were connected to the torso.

Thanks for the comments.

I think I'm not going to play anymore with this little toy due to the limitations of the Discovery Edition. It's a real nightmare to model paying so much attention to polycount.

I hope I'll be upgrading to XP soon (still NT user) so I will be able to play with XSI Exp 3.0. Mmmm, it's been ages since I last worked with Softimage but I hope I will be able to get the feeling.

Play is the only thing I'm going to do since it's almost impossible to make a decent income out of 3D where I live now.

:annoyed:
