View Full Version : *sigh* stupid question
I've lost my menus. File, Edit, Modify, etc. along the very top are all gone. I used the hotbox and selected Display>UI Elements>Show UI Elements, and I see everything but the top menus. I really didn't want to post a question like this... but here it is. Can you help? :blush:

ah, don't sweat the small stuff, you're fine. These are the kind of questions i like... i can answer these ones!.:p
Hotbox --> Window --> Settings/Preferences --> Preferences.
The Preferences Dialog box opens.
Under the 'Interface' tab (on the right) you will see a check box in 'Show Menu Bar [ ] in main window'
Check that box and then save the settings. Restart Maya just to make sure the settings are embedded and voila! Your File, Edit and what not are all there again. Check any of the other boxes you might feel a hankering for.
Thanks for asking the first question today i could answer readily!
:bounce: Thanks so much! I wouldn't have thought to check there. Glad I could help you by posing a question that you could answer. I'm sure there will be more of them in the future. :)

ctrl-m, shift-m. saving your preference (explicitly through file menu, or just exiting preferences window) is fine, no need to reboot.
