I can't wait to get started. Im scribbling out eveything I think of, but won't be at a decent computer for a couple days (my home PC is pile o' crap). I have some logistics sort of questions first:

I am Modelling this challenge in Wings3D. Which other program should I use to pose/possibly texture/render the final product?

Ideas so Far:

Warlock: Wizard type villian with poor coordination and vision, misses targets alot. This could be cool because I could make a target (like the people-shaped ones at firing ranges) with the burned places on the back wall/everywhere but the bullseye... or something like that. (eyes look like this: :surprised

Wonder Pup: Superman type powers and puny puppy body make it hard for him to do anything helpful.

Super Clumsy: He's got large feet and bad balance which makes it hard for him to go anywhere. Think victorious march quickly ended when he trips on his own feet.

Yesterday a woman (she was druged) told me that the only things men can do is target and fire... poor warlock! :D

Thanks to wasamonkey, dshelton|gone, and Stimpy I have finally come up with a character.

Warlock
A skinny and nerdy teenage boy who plans to fight crime using "the heart of the cards" and summon the all powerful beasts form his card game! Picture and guy with a robe, hood, and large glasses holding up a TCG card and a staff.

Wow, no one really says much... I ditched the spellcaster idea, blindness/bad sight seems kinda common. I have cooked up some more Ideas that seem to be less common...

1. What if Peter Pan were on drugs an only thought he could fly? (It's "Pixy" dust)

2. the Rocket Skater. A clumsy dude with rockets on his feet and a propane tank on his back.

3. FamineMan. He fights crime in the mean streets, he just needs to stop and take a quick rest before he catches the criminals. (because he's hungry... haha...)

Any comments would be wonderful...

I like the rocket skater idea best. I can just imagin the final pic: Someone in a hero dress with a scared expression flying uncontrolled around and leaving smoke traces behind :D

What about Marketing Hype man -- He uses catchy words like dynamic and proactive until the bad guys just can't take it any more.

Imagine the villains wondering why he was "wooshing" around the street.

Arg! It's frustrating when you have fifty half-decent ideas and then you can't decide which one to use. I finally came up with something I can be happy with. This is the last time (I hope) im changing my mind.

Introducing:

ChronoMan! A high-tech, stylin hero who suffers form Chronic Fatigue. What good is being cool, if you're so darn tired, huh?

Sorry to burst your independent, solo gig but theres quite a few threads ive seen with characters that are narcoleptic. :annoyed:

But its totally up to you, roll with whatever you like the most cuz whatever it is, it will be totally yours to cherish and love like one of your own.

Nice to see so many people helping out with ideas too :D

After finally figuring out that POV-Ray auto saves your image file as a bmp in windows, I have genrated this for eveyone to see the progress of CronoMan. I still need to do alot to his face and the texture is merely so you get the idea of generally what his costume will look like. Any crits or comments are more than welcome.

[edit] actually, my host server is currently being funny, but you can go to the main CGchallenge: Classic Page and see the image [edit]

I have done alot to the face and I am trying to make arms. It is a very slow process when you've never done this much before.http://68.0.124.40:8000/goodwinlabs/CGchallengebody.jpg

I have prepared a page on my site with all the updated image views for easy viewing...

I've done a great deal of work for this one. I think I have gotten much better from the last challenge, I hope you all agree. Unless there is something that needs to be fixed, I simply need to figure out how to rig this puppy in CInema4D 5.31 XL for neato poses and such.
