View Full Version : 9.2 & Area Light Intensity

I know I read about this somewhere before but can't seem to find it again. From what I remember, area lights (or all lights???) and now 2x times brighter than in 9.0? I see this both in the viewport as well as in FPrime. However, the strange thing is that in doing a F9 render, it renders to the same intensity as my 9.0 renders?

What's happeing here?

I remember reading that area lights are now no longer roughly twice as bright as other light types on similar brightness levels. All light types are now equal. This seems to hold true in my usage thus far in 9.2. Whether they bumped up all other light types or decreased brightness of area lights, I do not know.

They decreased the brightness of area lights.

area lights were decreased to better work with other lights - i remember opening a previous lighting challenge when beta testing and had to adjust things accordingly.
