Hey all!

Well I think for my 3d part of the challenge, I was going to go with Super Oldpeople. I threw a couple of my concepts below done in pencil. Tell me what you think, any ideas for the super old people Gang. If you have a thought, fire away! Ill be posting up more old super heroes here shortly, then pick which ones I am going to model...

If I had to choose one, I'd say go with the first pic. I think it'd be great if the second guy was his sidekick though.

wildsheepchase- Yeah, I was seeing the side kick thing going on also, I havent decided whether I wanted to make the Old People Super Hero Gang into 2d or 3d yet, for I have a couple good ideas for the scene. Thanks for the reply, congrats on last challenge! :applause:

Alright, well I actually really liked Super Dinkle the most, so I started modeling his face last night and this is where I stand right now! Its still a WIP, needs tons more wrinkles and refining but im happy with it for the moment! Ive got finals so Ill see what else I can do over the weekend.

Alright, the chracter bio:

Super Dinlke AKA "Old Man Clemens" is a self proclaimed super hero, who fights crime and feels comfortable in the process! :buttrock: He has Dimensia making him really slow in thinking, but still has enough sense to know when trouble is brewing. As a kid he always wanted to be a superhero, once he lost his mind, he thought he was! "Hey whos to blame him?" In his youth, he use to watch a lot of the tv show "Magiver", those memories of the show stayed etched in his brain, and now he is able to turn any food, toy, instrument, or household utensil into a weapon against crime! He is always one second away from killing himself, but the luck of the Irish is always watching his back. No villain big or small has a chance against him....

I really liked how an old lady is able to see a little more then she is suppose to! Practically covering her eyes always.. :D

Hey all! I only had a little time to work on it tonight. I added more wrinkles to the face and blemishes. Started to work with a skin texture, but far from it. Bump, Spec, etc. will come after im satisfied with the finished head. I also added little hairs in his ear. Hope you like....

Hey guys!

decided to put some time in this tonight, so I worked on the textures and bump maps spec etc. and did some morph targets with a quick animation to see Super Dinkle in motion. Ill post the animation TEST once its finished rendering... This is a shot of the where the character is at right now. I will start on the body as soon as I get some finals finished. Night!

Looks incredible SEL. Only thing I'm not keen on is the amount of moles(or warts, not sure which) on his face. I know old people usually have a lot, but there's something about them that doesn't look natural. Just my opinion though. He also needs brows...but I'm sure you know that. Everything else looks absolutely amazing.:D

littlebrother - hey there, if you go to the front of the thread on the top, you will know what im getting at with this superhero, for there is a description of Super Dinkle. Also here is the rules from the chalenge thread so you can see where this fits in. :)

Everyone's heard of the successful big superheroes and supervillains, but how about those less fortunate ones that try just as hard but just never manage to accomplish anything? We think they deserve their spotlight too. Just because they are overweight, have asthma, a bad rash, don't shower, have acute diarrhea, are alcoholic or are afraid of hights doesn't mean they are less worthy, right?

"Alternatively you can also show the character's fall from grace due to his or her inability to protect the planet, love interest, innocent puppy, pizzaman, etc through incompetence "

I dont want to give away my final composition until the end, but you will be able to see how super heroish this guy really is...

Hey you guys, well the face is still far from done. I promise to make him look a ton older! So please be patient!! ;) Also, I had enough time to do a test Head animation with different blendshapes to see expressions on the old guy! Check it out, the file is a 2MB DivX compression 320 X 240 screen size..... Remember this is only a test! :thumbsup: Hope to have more time over the weekend to work on him....

Im not at will to download anything, atm, but hopefully ill check it out soon, everything else is coming along fantastically. Be sure to give him some 'misty' eyes (from when your eyes begin clouding over with age from some weird process ocurring in your eyes over time that im not remembering right now, basically just a grayer shade of blue). Otherwise, sounds like you are on top of things, some nice bushy white/grey eyebrows will set the mood.
