View Full Version : Help! I need to fix this rig

Howdy folks,

I rigged this lamplike character using the techniques explained in "The Art Of Rigging Vol. 1". I believe I made a mistake somewhere in the process. Please take a look at the animation:

the left foot twists when I use the ikToFk control.

Hi.

I've had the same problem. I haven't found a complete fix for this, I believe it's just a problem with orient constraints. Changing the interpetration type can solve most situations though, I use "shortest" mostly.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer.

I decided to go back to the "before-skeleton" scene file ...
I just finished it, this time checking joint orientations before creating IK handles and the other stuff.
Now I'll rebind the skin (only for the hand and the foot, the rest is simple geometry that can be simply parent constrained to the respective joint).
