Looks like it is in the rc from what i read on the site :) I am not blender user but i read on the roadmap..

2.50

This release will bring back focus on work on the UI and tools:

- recode of core event structure in Blender (the own window manager)
- create a uniform API for access to tools (hot keys, buttons, menus, ...)

Result of that work will enable for example:

- Customizable key maps
- Macros
- Tutorial recording
- Construction history
- (Custom) Toolbars, Pie menus, ...

And needed is design work on:

- where are we putting tools in UI (toolbars, extending the headers for tools? vertical headers?)
- refresh and redesign of button panels
- icon redesign
- file browser refresh

Am very interested what they will come up with :D

SSS will be part of the upcoming 2.44 upgrade release. (it is in RC at the moment) 2.5 is planned as a major UI overhaul.

The SSS implementation is extremely fast and the quality is pretty good. Can't wait until the release after this one its going to be great. BTW, there is also a patch for fake caustics in blender, that has pretty good results.

yes nice.
2.5 will have macro reading I hope it can be used as in zbrush to make low kb tuts.
