any plugin/script/metod to convert texture files on to maya weight map to use with deformers or blendshape and skin

yes you can use painted textures (greyscale images) to get your painting done for the deformers like cluster weights and blendshapes. I guess you cannot use this for skin weights too.

but the deformers - select the mesh, right click > paint > cluster > weights and hit replace 0 and flood to remove all weights. then in the paint tool settings, scroll down to the Attribute Maps frame > expand the import frame and use the import button and browse to the painted map.. the tool assigns weights according to the image ! hope this is what you are looking for..

but using this ATTRIBUTE map for skinning weights, will not work..... because the default weights export tool works by exporting weight maps..but it makes per bone image.. so i guess you have to paint an image per bone ! better weight you skin weights urself !
