I've been checking the maxon site for the last few months to see if I could download a demo of Bodypaint 3D 3 and now is available! (it wasn't the last time I checked)
so:

enjoy!

I've downloaded the demo. Just one thing, how can you get the wacom tablet to navigate through the 3d space without it flipping out all over the place. Other than that, I pretty much enjoy Bodypaint.

C4D/Bodypaint New users and Demo users FAQ thread on CGTalk (Click me) (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=47&t=167531)

It's a somewhat out of dated thread now, but much of it still holds true. For the tablet, go to the prefs (Edit->Preferences) and enable the tablet option.

I usually change the preferences of Bodypaint to make it more like my current 3D app (shortcuts, navigation and this stuff, 3D max in this case) and change the settings of the tablet (right click on the lower button, middle click on the other one).

Thanks, I've should of known better to just check the preferences.

Why does Cinema4D cost roughly the same as BP3, and C4D contains all?? of the features of bodypaint3 anyway? Why wouldn't you just buy C4D?

Because they're the same thing with a different name and different default startup layout (and a few different extras on the installation cd's). If you upgrade or purchase Bodypaint 3 then you have all of the features of C4D r10 core in there, and if you buy C4D r10 core then you get Bodypaint 3 in there. It wasn't always thus.
