View Full Version : Copy/Paste animation using Max bones
BigMouth 05-03-2007, 10:23 PM Hi all
In Character Studio, you're allowed to save out animations and paste it back into another biped. You can also save and paste poses.
Does anyone know if creating a rigg using max bones (for squash & stretch purposes) has a similar function of saving animation and poses and being able to paste it back onto another rigg (that is similiar)?
Thanks all for any help you can give.:buttrock:

Use save/load animation tool found under the file menu. There is no easy save pose as a custom rig doesn't know what it is where biped does. This sort of tool is easy to write in Max script how ever.

Thanks Pen. Load/Save Anim works pretty good so far.
btw... if you're interested I found a copy/paste pose for Max bones. It's a script written by Michael Comet, which you can find here: http://www.comet-cartoons.com/maxscript.php

one more question for you all.
Is there a way to create layers on Max bones, similiar to the layering system that Character Studio has for Biped?
Animation layers were added in Max 9. If you don't have Max 9 then you can use the list controllers that have been in Max since version one.
