arrangemonk 05-03-2007, 10:16 PM i asked bananasalat for something i should model for practice, and he said "make an old medieval barrel", so i did, for about 50 min, this is the result

Cool! The rivets are a little stretched horizontally, though.

i started making a cat yesterday, i still don't know if this meshflow is good for animating, and i still have problems with the uvmap, but i think the mesh itself looks good already

That cat is looking really good. I'd lose the loop on the claws and use those polys elsewhere or just leave them out completely. Another thing I noticed is that you've mapped the barrel so that one side equals one plank. If you do that you could use half the number of planks and tile it instead, it might give you a bit more uv space so that it could be bigger as well as shrinking the texture to 128x256. Not sure if it would work, it's just a thought :)

Nice cat! I'd loose the claw tr's as well and give a tri or two to the top of the head so you dont have that pyramid head thing going on.
Low poly goodness. I love it!

haha, cool stuff. looks as if it was inflatable :D
You could probably define the eyes some more, they are kinda flat atm. But the texture is awesome!

i made an anim test
it would work, if it were an unimportand character, but thats not the matter^^
anyway, here's the result
