View Full Version : Image Node Stacking?
Julez4001 05-03-2007, 08:32 PM How does one go about stacking images on top of each other in the Node Editor?
eyebrows and its alpha on top of a skin map.
I've gotten "something" to work but i have the eeriy feeling that I just slap it together.
Whats the correct workflow?
Mixer node?
Is there an Alpha node?

Mixer node.
There's no alpha node, only image nodes. Whether you call your image node with a black and white image alpha node is up to you! ;-)

Jules,
There's probably a dozen ways or more you could go about it, so it really depends on what you like best. Here's two alternatives. You can simply feed the luma value from an image node into the opacity of another image node and that will act as an alpha. If you wanted to preserve the ability to adjust the opacity via percentages you could add a mixer node.
Lots of ways to do this. It's a little confusing at first because of how many options you have. There's also the Layer node which would allow you to setup images as you did in the Classic editor.

A simple way is to pipe the color of one image into the BG color input of another image.
Or you could use the Color Layer node, to stack images the old fashioned LW way.
