Just a thought for now.
Sketch when I find a scanner that actually works.

A villian with the brain of a 6 year old.
Using toys to rob etc...

Hi! I like your idea, that's gonna be funny! :D

Yep, sounds good. can't think of what toy he might use though.

BladeFX
03-13-2003, 01:43 PM
There are many of them ;)

- Handgun with cork or a little flag that says "Pang"
- A plastic "Zorro" sword.
- A T-shirt that's too small
- a neclace in the shape of a feeding bottle
- ...

I've found a scanner, real ancient, but it scanned (hence the poor quality :hmm: )

Hey! You've already modeled a head! So fast... :annoyed:
I've gotta do some more work... :wip:

Are you modeling with nurbs?

BladeFX
03-14-2003, 10:06 AM
box-modelling.
Seems to be the fastest. Only problem is to get rid of the square look
I've made about 5 heads in the last week, just to train, so I guess it's still in my fingers. Took me about 8 hours to get the head.

He's just a wip, mask is a flat row of poly's, think I'll use thickener on this., after the eyepatch

Still lots of tweaking to do.

I like the gun...it has this cool cartoonish look and feel. Good idea, will he get frustrated when things don't go his way and will he be naturally drawn to dinosaurs?

The nise looks a little short. try pulling it out a wee bit.

BladeFX
03-16-2003, 12:41 AM
Thanx Hickory.

I think the final scene will be when he is sitting on his tri-wheeler, (with playing cards in the wheels ;) ) thinking it's a motorcycle.
Aiming his gun to something.
Or standing next to it, besides a bunch of hells-angels.

I'll try to fix the nose, perhaps you're right. :wavey:

Little update, my first UV. (Whished I hadn't taken a circle  )
Can't deside wheter to go for the white or black T-shirt.

Hellwolve

Black would be better, but you can't see the folds there. If you solve that, I'd take that one.

coCoKNIght
03-16-2003, 07:36 PM
Take the black one! Your model is looking better and better

BladeFX
03-16-2003, 08:04 PM
Hellwolve: I'll try to get the folds on the black one.

coCoKNight: Black one it is, and thanx

Meanwhile, started on the pants.
Still a lot of tweaking to do on the waist, I gave hime a temp belt.

Well, that thing...that dummy...(don't for sure if that's the right word :p ) doesn't look heavy enough to me. E.g., IMHO it doesn't deform the string enough.

BladeFX
03-16-2003, 10:57 PM
(Ik weet ook niet hoe het heet ;) )

It's made of plastic, so I don't think it weighs so much.
The string will be more stretched when I place it correctly.
Because I'd want his belly button to show.

(Hey! Das niet eerlijk :p)

Got a point there. And if it will be more stretched when it's done, make it so then! :p

Nice idea, gj so far.

Some crit.

Pacifier is too big, as is his belly. Mask needs to form to his head a little more.

His legs and head look good, but his upper body is just a little to big, maybee 25% less. Actually from the front view, his upper chest and arms look fine, but from the side, his upper chest sticks out too far. Arms are ok (cept they dont have forearms :O j/k). Belly needs to go in some, his legs arms and head look to be skin and bones, then he has a huge beer belly, needs to go down a bit..

BladeFX
03-17-2003, 09:07 PM
Update,

detailed the pants some more + shrunk the pacifier.

http://www.bladefx.com/cg12/detail1.jpg

TryanD: His belly is far from finished.
after putting the tools on his belt, it has to be draped over it.

Hellwolve
03-28-2003, 09:15 PM
Alright, good point :p

Here is my list:

-Don't forget the bolts/screws for the wheels ;)

-The front mudguard would be better off shorter, and bend downward.

-Does his mouth get closed at one point?

That's all ;)

BladeFX
03-31-2003, 12:38 AM
Hellwolve, thx for your crits :p

Shortened the mudguard, added pedals.
His mouth will get close, right after he has some teeth.

Keep pumping away BladeFX.I like your effort. The bike is looking clean and interesting model wise.Have you thought of rusts as a possible texture in the end?

On the character himself I could make one suggestion..........The belly area, just under the belly-button,I believe you should bring out the center area more, make it rounder and have it stick out in that area more.:)

Possibly a utility belt of many Toy gadgets could be a good idea as well I think,in case you need another idea?

Keep modeling, and add those all important details,it's coming along nicely.

BladeFX
03-31-2003, 10:31 AM
Thanks Virtuoso.
I'm trying to improve myself every modelling session ;)

Rust I wouldn't take, because I think he would be proud of his bike. Some mud and less shiny, that would be better (I guess).
I'll post a wire of the bike later today (haven't got the latest model here.)

I think you're absolutely right about the belly. Will fix that as soon as possible. The utilitybelt is a great idea, I'm already searching for small gadgets. :)

BladeFX
03-31-2003, 02:02 PM
Finished the gun. Only thing left to do is put a big "Made in Taiwan" on the side :p and make it more used.

He's going to have a lot of this ammo in his belt, companied with a holster, catapult, remote control for a toy car (He think's it's a detonator :D )

Where should I put the utility belt?

position 1,2 or 3?

Hellwolve

My vote is for number one.

tsuru
04-01-2003, 11:22 PM
1 or 3... maybe both? ;) putting a belt on bare skin does not sound like a good idea in the comfort department.

Virtuoso
04-01-2003, 11:36 PM
Nice extra toys, gadgets. I think you can never have enough,so add even more.I like all the extra details you are adding.Do you think you will be going for the "Newer" or "Plastic" look,or maybe a more worn "Rusted look"?

I think as for the belts................You already have one around his waist,I think you should expand that one,add latches for toy's/gadgets to hand from this belt. And go with # 3 as an added belt.It has a very nice look, and is in a very primary spot. The eye will really see that belt well.:)

Well keep on with the details, and I am happy you have smoothed out the middle of the belly area. It's looking round and symetrical now.See you soon BladeFX..............

BladeFX
04-02-2003, 07:57 AM
I guess I'll go for 1 and 3.
Tried some temp belts and 3 is the only one to display his spare ammo. So 3 will be the ammo belt (arrows for the gun and rocks for the catapult.)
Perhaps I could make one of those combined belts with 1.

Thanks Hellwolve & tsuru

Virtuoso: I'd be glad to add more. But there seems to be a silent code on the internet not to display toy weapons of any kind. Can't even find a zorro sword :annoyed:
About the look, I'll try to get the expensive yet plastic look  But I'll try to get the "newness" off.
The belly is indeed much better this way. It's even better rendered, thx

Anyone who has more toughts for weapons or usable toys, please let me know. I'm in dying need for toy-inspiration. :)

Nice collection there BladeFX.............I know you are sticking to the plastic look instead of a worn rusted look. But will you be giving the plastic a more "Worn" look?

Anyways you are creating some fine details and it's got promise, keep pumping out the work.

If you want to get him on that small trick bike you will really have to squeese him in a small package,a good rig will be vital.

Have fun................Looking good.

Looking cool BladeFX.

I think you should make the 'ammo' of the pistol bigger though, so you can see what it is without including an enlargement of the ammo next to the pistol..

It has been a while.
I have too much work for clients :(
Tried to rig and pose hime quickly today.
But he kinda looks like he was born deformed :p

So I guess the previous image will be the final one for this challenge.
Hoping to finish the next one.
I've got time to learn rigging and posing, so it should work.

A glimpse of my first rig and pose ever:
