Software: HDR Shop, Maya, mental ray, Photoshop, Shake, Vue, ZBrush

This piece is from a CG anime short film I have been working on, and also stands as a tribute to one of my favorite characters, Id from the Xenogears universe. Modeled in Maya, he was brought over to ZBrush for detailing/texturing, and rendered with mental ray for Maya. His fiery hair was made possible with Shave and a Haircut. All passes were composited in Shake and Photoshop. I welcome all critique, especially with reference to lighting/rendering.

good haze and atmosphere, the thing that botheres me here is the hair of this woman
too thin i dont know, something..

I'm pretty sure it's a man actually. But yeah, something about the hair is a bit off. Everything else is superb though. :)

i also see the problem with the hair but to me the bright RED is not combining so well with the brown of the ship, i love the atmosphere of the ship, but the character feels too CG because of the colors, maybe tone down the characters red a lil bit...

Thats the main inspiration. I agree, the hair needs the most improvement next time.

Here is an updated preview where I quickly reduced character/hair reds, and desaturated a bit more. If you guys are a bigger fan of this direction, maybe its the way to go.
