View Full Version : Anatomy model
DNavas 05-03-2007, 04:09 PM Hi everybody; I did a base model to use as start for diferent models I have in mind ( to save some time); I tried to picture a normal (or neutral) human. Others future variations I have in mind are with cloths, a zombie, some over-esteroided dude and racial variations (not caucasian).
Anatomically is not perfect, I tried to make it as accurate as possible, the arms is the part that bugs me the most.
Its 3030 quads, the goal is to keep around 5000 quads, with optional complements (clothing, hair, items, armor...)
I used a normal map , exported from mudbox. I didn't meant to do a muscle guy, but I'm afraid I lost much detail from the high poly model , maybe I expect too much from the normal map... or maybe I should add more detail at the low model, or to the color map ... dunno .
About the specular map.... its right the color map, a bit darkened.... got to spend more time with it.... in the future.
360º of the low poly model, from Maya viewport.

I'll post other options as soon as I've got something. Feedback is welcome, I need it :)

Hey man, great start. A few things that stick out straight away:
- OMG, it's a hermaphrodite! (actually, that doesn't stick out at all...)
- The face and head seem a little out of proportion, but it's hard to crit without a close up and a face wire. Can you post one?
- The arms are definitely too thin. Can we get a tighter shot of these too?
- No butt-crack. Come on, don't be shy.
Looks like the torso is really great, and the legs seem correctly proportioned and well laid out too. Polyflow looks generally tight, with a few weird bits under the arms (but there always are). Just arms, head, ass and... er... wedding tackle... beans and franks...
Keep it coming man, this'll be great.

Aye, post some wires of the front, back and side if you can. Great work so far!

I've attached some wires, I hope its clear enough.
I'm quite happy about the wireframe, I think its clean enough, but some parts bugs me. I think I should have added more geometry, butt, torso and arms and fingers.
The chest line doesn't match with the texture (I used Mudbox, with higher geometry, and it relaxes and smooths things a little). I'm not sure wich option is better to match them, so by now I won't touch it. The butt has lost much detail too, I'll try not to be shy, and give world a chance, and do something about it with texturing.
And yes .. it's hermaphrodite! lol ... I had in mind to add some clothing, like trousers, and I thought without royal balls would be easier :)
Anatomically there are mistakes, the most annoying are the arms, I'll redo them , thanks for directions. And about the face I'd better do something more, It belongs to the human race but not to the living ones. I've some changes in mind.
there's a 360ª of the high poly model, the quality is not good, but the loss of detail can be seen.

Haha. He is anatomically correct for a not so endowed person.

I've spent more time with the high version. Fixing the arms, the hips and various parts of the model(thanks for advices).
It's not perfect yet I'm quite happy about it, but I wont touch anatomy anymore by now. (I'll keep in mind any suggestions).
I'll focus on adding gadgets and stuff for the low poly version, and adding some clothing and hairstyle.
I did something about its hermaphrodite problem, as an introduction to how to add clothes, just for testing. Please don't be too cruel, :)
I've updated the high poly turn around, now weights about 2,5 mg. Its more slow paced, the color map is the old one (needs some fix).

And about the post entry's name. Maybe its not the most correct, maybe it should be something like : base model mesh (or something like that).
Or naked man with no.penis.at.all . (please admin do not ban me )
as soon as i get something to show, I'll post.
