CGTalk - "LightWave 3D 9" to "LightWave 3D 9.2"???

View Full Version : "LightWave 3D 9" to "LightWave 3D 9.2"???

Hello,

I just updated from "LightWave 3D 9" to "LightWave 3D 9.2".

I have some questions:

1. I had trouble registering "LightWave 3D 9.2". So, I transfered the "license.key" from my "LightWave 3D 9" folder to the "LightWave 3D 9.2" folder. Is this okay?

2. Can I transfer all of the "Content" and "Presets" from the "LightWave 3D 9" folder to the "LightWave 3D 9.2" folder?

3. The "LightWave 3D 9.2" folder doesn't have a "Dongle Drivers" folder. Should I transfer the "Dongle Drivers" folder from the "LightWave 3D 9" folder to the "LightWave 3D 9.2" folder?

1.Yes, you can and should use the same license key for 9.2 as for 9.0.

2. Yes, that should work without problem.

3. I've never had a dongle driver folder so I think you can leave without it.

the dongle driver folder contains the dongle drivers. It's installed with every 9.0 installation (except the openbeta ones) in case you need to install.... yep you guessed it : the dongle drivers. :)

it's not needed for LW to function. (the folder that is)
