Hi.

I think I have a odd problem in maya. I've imported a Tiff-sequence with an aplhachannel included. The sequence contains a text and a thin line and is textured on a simple NURBSplane. Im just going to use maya to rotate it around a bit. Then render the alpha back to a compositing program.

The problem seems to be the antialaising. When I IPR-render the result are exactly as I want it to be. Only, I cant IPR-batchrender. So Ive been playing with the renderglobals-settings for three hours without any success.

I've been looking for a way to turn the antialaising off. But i cant find any ways to do it. If this is not possible then what can I do to get the same results as the IPR? Is there a way? (well, i know i can screendump every frame but that would take an eternity)...

I also recieved the sequence as a IFF-seq but the results were the same.

/confused

...ok.

CGtalk wouldnt allow my attachment. In other words I didnt really explain the problem what happens when I render. The results are blury and the thin line thats in the sequence are trashed up. The IPR-results are exaclty as I want it to be and looks very much like a tif from the imageseq.

Hope you'll understand.

Canīt try it now,
but maybe your solutions is in
RenderGlobals --> Render Option --> Composite,

set the value to 0, 0.999, and try 1

I was under the impression that if you in render globals choose preview quality under the Anti-aliasing Quality tag, you'll get the same anti-aliasing as an IPR render... Or the other way around, IPR uses the preview quality.

Webster: The results on the polygon model thats also a part of the scene looks like the IPR when I use composite. But for some reason the textured NURBSplane disapears. Any ideas?

Graf Orlok: No. The IPR doesnt seem to be using any anti-aliasing at all. If I choose preview quality in the renderglobals-settings it looks worse. One of the first things I tried.

As far as i know, composite affects only the alpha-channel. Itīs some kind of anti-aliasing for th alpha-channel.

look into the manuals for detailed infos about composite

edit:
Render it without, composite set to 0, 0.999 and one.
Save every file of the settings and open them in Photoshop
or just compare the alpha channels of the plane in Maya
