Hey guys, just messing with a scene ive created, and my trees in the scene are made up of using planes with 2-sided textures applied with a transparency layers.

Thing is when i add fog into the scene i get a horrible effect on the parts of the planes that are supposed to be transparent.

The picture attached to this post shows you what i mean. I thought it was going to be easy to get around by turning off "apply atmospherics" on all my tree models, but all it seems to do is render the trees in the foreground as they would be with no fog. Any idea how i can get the fog not to mess with the transparency layers?

is the specular/reflections set to zero? you might be catching the specular from the fog..?

What program? Mask the specularity and reflection(if used) with the opacity.

My bet would be MAX, and they (fog and opacity maps) have never worked well together. Instead try a blend material composed of one that is totally transparent and one of your tree texture map(s) then use what you have as the opacity as the mask. Also put your fog on exponential.
