MDB101 03-13-2003, 06:29 AM Hi guys :P I'm now in a part where I'm texturing this soldier character and then rig it up later Its about 2742 Triangles. I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to texturing, well sorta, so I'll have to brush up my skills in this department for a bit before I start to texture my High-Poly Characters, Anyhoots! Ill be back with more updates, later :)

make the texture 100% illuminated so we can see better what your painting. I also think your model has proportion issues. Scale the head down a bit and lengthen the shin and make the feet a little tiny bit bigger.

Looks cool, lotta detail in the face, where its needed, which is a good thing.
Looks like there might be a few smoothing group issues in the face there. Just those sharp edges up on the forehead and near the cheeks. - prob aware of those already :)
Nice use of photosourcing too. Watch out for lighting inconsistencies - look in the bottom corner of each eye, theres a highlight there thats killing the illusion.

Hello again, Ill post some wires. Yes the texture is a photo and its me I just took my eyes, lips, and ears then I did the rest I usally take a foto like here right http://www.defenselink.mil/photos/People/Portraits/
Then I take that skin texture and use that as a color Pallete. I usually do this for the cloths as well. All textures I find on the net are good resources for textures, IE Army Cloths, Buttons. shit like that :) Then again like I says Im a bit of a newb with Adobe as well so thats why im practicing this lil proggie for a bit, Well We all have to start somewhere right? The Lighting issues I think are from the GI renderings? without it it all looks ok.. Im sure there is no Global Illumation in a game right?? I just use that lighting so I can see better on how it looks like
Ill be back:

this is pretty good
There is only one thing that bugs me: the hands are too small and detract from the character's over all presence :hmm:

Hi, your character looks awesome, but when I saw the wire version, I thought that maybe you have too much tris in the back of the head. He gonna be using the helmet right? or he gonna have a hair? I dunno, but i think maybe you can reduce more the number of polys.
Looking great!!! Witch program are u using? Max? If so, how come you do to render the wire version, togetter with the shaded version?
