View Full Version : Sewing a tear shut
pigeonreverend 05-02-2007, 02:07 AM I'm trying to figure out how to run a string through a specific point on an object/surface. I've figured out how to fake pulling the hole that I need sewn shut...that part was easy, but I can't figure out the action that precedes it. Ideally the string would be slack before the point of entry and taut after passing through.
Absolutely any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

Use curve on curve movement. You need curve which will move on motion path on another curve. Then you deform motion part curve, but still have other curve moving on it doing what it needs doing. One way of doing this is to make skeleton on curve then make curve IK and then just animate the offset.
Hope this helps.
