View Full Version : Using Frrantic Films ameretto
bjr898 05-01-2007, 06:13 PM I am trying to use amaretto with max 9. It seems to be installed corectly according to its check program, however whenever i render with it the render dialogue shows no lights in the scene and the render comes up completely black. at first I had four standard omni lights, then I erased those and went witha standard direct light and still the same problem. Has anyone else ran into this?

Hi Roy,
Can you please come over to the Amaretto Support Forum at
http://support.franticfilms.com/wb/
so we can discuss this without polluting CGTalk with test file attachments and such?
First, check >Show Render in IV and after it renders, hit the A key to see whether there is an alpha channel in the output. If there is, then your lights are not rendering. If there is not, then your geometry is not exporting correctly.
You could also set Amaretto to "Export Only", Self-Contained Output, ZIP Self-Contained Output and send us the zip file so we can A) see if it render here or B) read through the PYG file and figure out what was wrong...
Thanks,
