View Full Version : Transferrable Phonemes

Hi folks.. You can always get a rapid answer around here:) I have two heads, one male and one female. They were both fashioned from the same protomesh and have the same number of points, point order etc.. I need to build a full set of phoneme positions for each one. To save time I would like to build them from one and then transfer the point positions to the other head and make a new set for that without the morph or pose of the head shape being transferred as I only need the mouth positions and it is imperative the rest of the heads points remain where they were pushed to. Seems P2P would morph the whole head and not just the lips selection. The lips were left the exact same on both models if that is any help in getting a solution They will end up being lip synced in Flash using Collada as the bridging format and what we can do with point arrays is very limited.

If you're talking about P2P i'm guessing your'e using 9.6 or earlier as the Morph tag superceeded this for R10, there's no real way in 9.6 as far as I know. In R10 you can use VAMP to transfer the morph tags morphs between different meshes, or if the points data is the same and the meshes themselves not too dissimilar then you can try just copying the morphs tag betwen meshes, it only stores deltas for points that have moved.
